Dr. Philip Chen has practiced general dentistry in Modesto since 2000. His practice provides routine and restorative dental care, with an emphasis on preserving natural teeth when that is a reasonable option.

Crowns and similar restorations are designed and made in the office using CEREC, allowing many to be completed in a single appointment without a temporary crown or return visit. Cone beam CT imaging, a three-dimensional X-ray, is used when a more detailed view of a tooth, its roots, or the surrounding bone is helpful. When a condition is better treated by a specialist, the patient is referred.

Dr. Chen earned a BS in Electrical Engineering from UCLA in 1987, an MS in Electrical Engineering from UC Irvine in 1989, and his DDS from the University of the Pacific in 2000.
